Hello,

I would like to thank you for entering my site and taking the time to find out a little bit about my life and my beliefs.

I have a bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology that I received from Auburn University at Montgomery and currently working on a master's in Collaborative Education 7-12 at Auburn University Montgomery.  I plan to complete this degree in the Spring of 2010.  It has been a joy for me to work and actively learn the special needs my students require.  I have a huge heart for children and God knew this is where I should use my talents as a professional.

I have a wonderful husband who is my backbone and two beautiful little girls.  I have lived in McKenzie all my life, graduated from McKenzie High School and hope to retire from McKenzie High School.  McKenzie is my home and I will strive to make our school better for me and our students.

I believe that all children when given the opportunity to learn in a setting that is appropriate for their learning style and ability that they can achieve at a higher level.  Children must be individualized and taught in an appealing manner.  Children need caring, comforting and nurturing teachers to make a positive difference in their lives.  The learning environment must be safe and conducive to learning.  The environment must include adequate and appropriate resources to deliver the proper curriculum and a goal for all children to strive for.  I believe that teachers must respect their students and in return insist that student respect the teacher.  I believe that there must be a line of communication developed with parents and the community to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the education process.  A teacher must love his or her job.
